Cooking Essentials is a 168 page cookbook that is divided into 6 distinct sections.  it was first published in 1997 by DK Publishing, 375 Hudson Street, New York, New York.  This book is the 1999 American Edition published especially for the Cooking Club of America.

Cooking Essentials was written by Mary Berry and Marlena Spieler with photography by Dave King. Additional photos contributed by David Murray and Jules Selmes, Jerry Young, Amanda Heywood, Clive Streeter, Philip Dowell, Stephen Oliver and Steve Gorton.

This is a section of over 90 recipes along with several tips and things to look out for and be aware of.  Also included is a 4 page section of “Cooks Notes” which includes several tables about cooking temperatures and times pertaining to individual meats, vegetables and fish.  There are also conversion charts going from Fahrenheit to Celsius and Weight, Volume and Mass tables.

The book itself is in excellent condition with absolutely NO marks, tears, rips, writing or anything else on the pages of Cooking Essentials.  It certainly appears to me that this recipe book was purchased with the best of intentions, but then it was put in a cupboard or on a shelf, then never looked at!
